Pamela Baker, KPU’s first Indigenous Designer in Residence at the Wilson School of Design, is one of the recipients of the 2024 Sam Carter Award in Applied Art + Design.

KPU's first Indigenous Designer in Residence, Pamela Baker, has been honoured for her contributions to BC's creative economy.

For over three decades Baker has specialized in West Coast fashion, blending ready-to-wear and haute couture designs with her rich Coast Salish, Kwakiutl and Tlingit heritage.

Presented by the BC Achievement Foundation, the award celebrates functional art that contributes to BC’s thriving creative economy. The presentation and exhibition reception will be held at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre today.
