Lab Services Offered

The KPU Applied Genomics Centre is fully equipped with genomic and metabolomic tools, and able to conduct Sanger and Next-Generation sequencing, a variety of hops analyses, and various other services. All work is conducted by trained personnel on state-of-the-art equipment under the supervision of AGC’s leadership.

Lab Services

  • Sanger sequencing
    • High-quality sequencing of DNA fragments up to 700-800bp performed on our SeqStudio Genetic Analyzer.
    • Optional add-ons: DNA extraction, PCR, and PCR clean-up.
  • 16S metagenomics
    • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to profile the microbial communities in gut content, soil, water, and other samples.
    • Add-on: Fungal identification via ITS sequencing for a more comprehensive profile.
  • Bacterial whole genome sequencing
    • Complete genome sequencing of small bacterial genomes using short-read (Illumina) and/or long-read (Nanopore) technologies.
  • Metabolite analysis
    • Testing by HPLC and GC/MS, including hops analysis.
  • qPCR testing
    • Fast and accurate identification of specific pathogens by quantitative PCR.
  • SNP analysis
    • High-throughput SNP using our Illumina iScan platform.
    • SNP arrays are only available for certain species – please contact us for details.
