Intramural Leagues, Drop‑ins and Tournaments
KPUs offerings of Intramural sports, Tournaments and drop-in sports are a fantastic way for students, staff and alumni to stay active, make friends, and embrace the various elements of university sport and recreation life which is dedicated to providing a fun and friendly competitive atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Whether you're a seasoned campaigner, or trying a sport for the very first time, KPU invites its community to explore the services and programs offered to discover the various benefits that can be cultivated, developed and cherished for years to come.
KPU Intramural leagues allows its participants to enjoy organized, scheduled sports where students, staff and alumni are required to commit to themselves or their team to weekly matches for a set period of time at a fun and friendly competitive level. Participants may register in person as a team, or as an individual by 'free agency'. Each league concludes with a playoffs period and a final championship match.
KPU Tournaments, on the other hand, are single-day events played through a bracket-style knockout format, culminating in a final match to determine the winner. Tournaments are an exciting way to provide individuals with the ability to participate without the need of long-term commitment.
Participation with KPU Sport and Recreation requires play to be in the spirit of good 'sportspersonship', which in turn fosters the environment for physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development and literacy, and offers the mix of fun and friendly competition with recreation play to encourage community building.

FAQs
How do I register for intramural, tournament &/or drop-in sports?
Staff, students and alumni can sign up for as many intramural leagues, tournaments and drop-in sports as they like!
Participants need to come in person to the sportrec front desk to register, which is located in the Cedar building on Surrey Campus. The following process is required to register:
- Scan your active KPU ID card
- Sign a waiver form. When registering for a fitness class both a waiver form AND a PAR-Q form are required.
- If registering as part of a team, legibly fill out your details on the team registration sheet. If registering as a 'free agent', ask the front desk staff for assistance.
- Pay the registration fee. Those signing up as 'free agents' are not required to pay until they are notified by email of being assigned a team.
I (i) haven't played in ages, (ii) haven't played this sport before, (iii) am not that good...can I still join?
