Engaging community through garden-based learning
KPU Farm Learning Garden
The Learning Garden is situated on the KPU Farm on the Garden City Lands in the heart of Richmond. The garden is designed to engage our community and provide people of all ages and capabilities the opportunity for experiential learning. Our focus is to create excitement about sustainable food production, ecosystem diversity and ecosystems services.
This garden is available for programs and organizations to host and attend place-based learning for children, youth and adults. The garden can be utilized for garden tours, field trips, and much more, and it consists of beds that are suitable for those in a wheelchair.
In 2023, our learning Garden was expanded to provide more space to engage volunteers and guests. The garden encompasses themes such as uncommon foods, edible and cut flowers, companion planting, plant breeding and development, herbal tea garden and more.
Consider holding a garden class at the Learning Garden so that we can grow together! If you are interested, please fill out the KPU Farm Events form here. For other questions please contact kpufarm@kpu.ca.
Please visit our sustainable agriculture page for more information about our program.
The expansion of the Learning Garden was made possible with funding from TD Bank.
