Celebrate Vancouver Pride with KPU - Volunteers Needed!
Sign up by clicking here and filling out the volunteer form.
Calling all 2SLGBTQIA+ KPU students, employees, friends, family members, and allies of all abilities!
Join KPU and the Pride Advocacy Group as we once again serve as a Toonie Brigade in the Vancouver Pride Parade on August 4! We'll be carrying the giant rainbow flag along the entire parade route, collecting donations for the Vancouver Pride Society Community Bursary Fund, and dancing to fabulous festive beats spun by our resident DJ Mx Prince!
We're looking for at least 40 volunteers decked out in their finest Pride gear who can be available to walk or roll the 3.7 km route between approximately 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Tasks will include helping to decorate our vehicle, carry the flag, hold signs, take donations, hand out swag, smile, wave, and generally have a gay old time!
Meet up will be in Vancouver's West End near Davie and Denman (exact location TBA in late July), and the parade ends near BC Place Stadium, an easy jaunt to Canada Line and Skytrain stations. Please let us know on the sign up form if you will need mobility support in order to join us.
Complimentary KPU Pride baseball hats to wear in the Parade (and keep!) will be provided to the first 40 volunteers on site!
Feel free to email pride@kpu.ca for more information.
