Soon after Dua’a obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree with first class honors in Cell & Molecular Biology (Honor Roll) from Simon Fraser University (SFU), she continued with her graduate studies at SFU until she obtained a Master of Science Degree with concentration in Molecular Biology. While at SFU, Dua’a received the 2006 Outstanding Student Leadership Award and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She was featured several times on SFU’s website and magazines in recognition for her outstanding academic achievements and her research on the Development of TILLING Technology in The Breeding of Hybrid Poplar Forest Trees.

Dua’a always had a passion for teaching. She held several positions as a teaching and research assistant at SFU and lab technician at Douglas College. She taught general biology, gene cloning, microbiology and plant physiology. Since joining KPU in 2015, Dua’a has been working as a lab instructor for the Anatomy and Physiology courses at KPU’s Langley campus.
