Areas of Interest

I am a developmental biologist and geneticist with over 10 years of experience mentoring student research. I have been teaching at KPU since 2015, and I also teach in the UBC Med program. I am passionate about science education, and feel strongly that students benefit from hands-on practical experience in learning. I always try to bring these experiences and opportunities to my students in both the classroom and the lab. My current research interests include embryonic development of vertebrates and aquatic toxicology/water protection. I am currently accepting expressions of interest from research students through the BIOL senior research courses (BIOL 4199/4299) and the Student Research and Innovation Grant program for various projects.
