Job Responsibilities:

 

 • Execute brew days ensuring achievement of key quality metrics and target volumes 

• Yeast management ensuring proper pitching, harvesting, and storage for optimal yeast health • Development of new beer recipes and seasonal brews in collaboration with the management team 

• Execute cellaring activities including detailed record keeping, gravity readings, dry hopping, fruit additions, carbonating, transferring, kegging, canning, etc 

• Responsible for overall cleanliness of the brewery, including CIP and scheduled deep cleaning • Support packaging operations ensuring efficiency and quality standards 

• Responsible for workplace safety (own and others), ensuring proper PPE in use and safety procedures are followed 

• Manage raw materials inventory and supplies ordering, ensuring alignment with brew schedule 

• Maintain taproom draft lines, including regular line cleaning, and addressing issues 

• Bring a positive attitude to work every day and make the workday better for others 

• Represent the brewery publicly by participating in beer community events and festivals 

• Stay current on brewing trends, new products, and technologies in our industry.

 

Experience and skills:

 

• Minimum 2 years’ work experience in commercial brewing roles focused on production and quality, with demonstrated knowledge of beer style guidelines and modern brewing processes • Experience brewing high quality lagers and pilsners with detailed knowledge of process and risk factors 

• Experience on the canning line, understands risk factors and requirements for successful packaging and shelf stability 

• A passion for craft beer and pushing boundaries, you have a variety of recipes that could be the next hit on store shelves 

• Knowledge of basic lab tools and processes (yeast health management) 

• Able to lift 50lbs and move 140lbs objects 

• Computer savvy, including email, MS excel, and common brewery management packages 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be a team player 

• Brewing diploma or certificate is an asset

 

Pay Range (hourly or salary): $21-27/hour
