Deepani Indurugalla

U. of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka), MSc (U. of Kansas, USA), PhD (SFU,Canada)Deepani received a BSc from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, an MSc in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University of Kansas, USA, and a PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from Simon Fraser University, Canada. Her graduate and research associate work was directed at the synthesis of isotopically-labelled sugar derivatives and the study of the finer details of the acid-catalysed hydrolysis of pyranosides using the isotopic quasi-racemate method, and the synthesis of natural sialoside analogues for the determination of enzymatic rate constants.
Prior to joining KPU, Deepani worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka and as a Research Associate and Chemistry Instructor at Simon Fraser University.
Throughout her career, Deepani has taught a variety of courses including Physical Organic Chemistry, Carbohydrate Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, and General Chemistry.
