Stuart Chase has always enjoyed storytelling and pursued a career in journalism to utilize his writing skills. 

As the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Make a Wish Foundation, Stuart valued the professionalism of the classroom. "I was immediately plugged into a classroom setting where you weren't just sitting with classmates," said Stuart, "you were sitting with colleagues."

The journalism instructors at KPU are all working professionals and contribute real-world examples and personal experiences to student learning material. While fostering relationships with KPU instructors, Stuart was also impressed with KPU's small classroom sizes: "I wanted a more focused, one-on-one type learning environment which is exactly what I got." 

While building upon his storytelling skills, Stuart also gained the confidence to excel in his career and share his critical thinking abilities: "I ask ‘why’ and ‘how’ far more post-KPU than I did pre-KPU."

"Every university may offer what you want," said Stuart, "but KPU is going to give you the quality experience you need to be successful in the world beyond your education."
