I recently completed my honours thesis research titled “I was always worrying about something. I was so stressed”: Women KPU Students and COVID-19. The SRIG helped me gain experience with writing a grant proposal and funded the honorariums for my interview participants. Through this honours research process I learned new research skills, such as writing an REB application, developing an interview guide, conducting qualitative interviews, and data analysis. This research also gave me the opportunity to provide recommendations to KPU as to how to better support women KPU students. Overall, this research has allowed me to develop writing and research skills that will transfer to the workforce.
