The Student Innovation Research Grant allowed me to have direct exposure to vital research taking place in the Lower Mainland. By putting my education from the Environmental Technology Protection Diploma to use, I was able to be a participant in a project that has positive and long-term ramifications for the health and well-being of our waterways. It was enriching to work with local First Nations and showcase my skillset in providing environmental support for the local salmon populations. This experience overall was inspirational and something I will be proud to reflect upon.
