HIGHLIGHTS
Visit Barcelona, Spain to immerse yourself in an interactive learning environment, where you will take part in a wide variety of immersion activities related to local culture and design. You will get the chance to cultivate your interdisciplinary skills through creativity, design thinking, academic inquiry, and cultural awareness.
Over the two-week period you will visit significant cultural locations and design projects, such as the Sagrada Familia, Palau de Musica Catalan, Hospital de San Paul, and Barri Gotic in Barcelona. Through these excursions you will gain insight into contextual and cultural history of the regions, as well as personal, community, and global issues related to design and the built environment

- Jardins del Mirador, Olympic stadium & Calatrava tower
- Barceloneta, Palau de la Musica Catalana
- Walking Bari Gothic & the Jewish Quarter
- Palau Guell, Parc Guell, Casa Battlo, Casa Amatler, Casa Mila
- Sant Pau
- Mies van der Rohe Pavilion (The Barcelina Pavilion)
- Gehry fish, Arc de Triomf, Museu del Disseny de Barcelona

- DESN 3100 (3 credits)
PRE-REQUISITES
- 45 credits of 1100-level courses or higher or permission of the instructor(s).
Note that no previous design experience is needed to enroll in DESN 3100. All KPU students are welcome and are encouraged to apply. However, Wilson School of Design students will be given priority. If you are unsure of your qualifications, please contact us with questions.
APPLICATION INFO
Non-WSD Interior Design students interested in participating in this field school must submit a statement of interest outlining their reasons for wanting to partake in this experience. Applications from outside of KPU are encouraged, and will be accepted and considered based on seat availability and compliance with pre-requisites.
