Gain Applied Skills From Applied Experience
The Faculty of Trades and Technology at KPU isn't your average trade school. KPU is the place where thought meets action, so all our trades programs and courses integrate theory with practical hands-on training.
Most of our trades programs are SkilledTradesBC-endorsed so you will gain the qualifications needed to work in your trade in Metro Vancouver, BC and across Canada.
At our Tech campus in Cloverdale, you can start your career with one of our foundation programs or advance your career with one of our apprenticeship programs.
Ranging from a few weeks to several months, our industry-based programs will prepare you for positions such as appliance repair technician, automotive service technician, carpenter, electrician, farrier, mason, mechatronics technologist, millwright, parts and warehousing person, plumber or welder, and put you on a pathway to well-paid work.
Foundation Programs
Foundation programs are designed for individuals with little to no experience but want to gain the practical knowledge and hands-on skills to begin a successful career in trades.
KPU delivers various Foundation programs, including Welding, Plumbing, Parts, Warehousing, Logistics and Distribution, Millwright/Industrial Mechanic, Masonry, Construction Electrician, Carpentry, Automotive Service Technician and Appliance Service Technician, led by industry-experienced, Red Seal-endorsed instructors.

Technology Programs
Technology programs are designed for students seeking to combine solid academic preparation with applied skills.
KPU delivers several Technology programs, including Mechatronics and Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Farrier Science, led by industry-experienced instructors.

Apprenticeships
KPU is an SkilledTradesBC designated training provider, offering technical training in appliance service, automotive, construction, horticulture, electrical, parts and warehousing, plumbing and welding for registered apprentices.
