In 2008, Kwantlen Polytechnic University received a $1 million grant from The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to fund the Acting Together community-based research project. The funding came through the Community University Research Alliance grants, a funding initiative to stimulate partnerships between community and academic institutions.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University holds the grant and supports the work of this project, providing a location, help with infrastructure and staff resources.

Acting Together wishes to acknowledge the funding and in-kind support given by SSHRC and KPU.
