KPU extends thanks to the members of the Program Advisory Committee. This committee meets twice a year, to assist with curriculum and program information.
Anthropology Program Advisory Committee Members
James Bradshaw, Policy Analyst, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation)
James is currently a Policy Analyst with the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) working in the Chair & Council Office. Having graduated from KPU in 2015, James moved to Wellington, New Zealand with his partner for three years. There he gained an understanding of governmental relations and policy making from his experience with New Zealand’s Ministry of Education. His years of experience working in the government sector along with his keen sense of curiosity and appreciation for culture and history have brought James to a point in his life where he can share some of those experiences from the lens of an alumni member.

Andrew Haugo, Permit Holder, A.E.W. LP
Andrew Haugo received his BA in Anthropology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2011. Andrew is a Permit Holder and Field Director for the Interior Plateau and Subarctic/Boreal Forest regions of British Columbia. He has been in the cultural resource management industry since 2012.
He is experienced in conducting Archaeological Impact Assessments, Archaeological Overview Assessments, Preliminary Field Reconnaissance, Section 12.4 Archaeological Site Mitigations, UAV & Remote Sensing assessments, and Archaeological Site Mapping. He has coordinated projects and overseen logistics for large scale archaeological projects. Andrew supervised field crews on these archaeological projects to meet the needs of communities, clients, repositories, and regulatory bodies.
Andrew currently lives in Chilliwack, and works in the Nlaka’pamux homeland at A.E.W. LP.

Gregory Huzar, Manager, Richmond Olympic Experience
Gregory Huzar's combined expertise in event management, passion for art, and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences make him a highly valued professional in the industry.
Gregory currently manages the Olympic Experience at the Richmond Olympic Oval, Canada's first member of the Olympic Museum Network. With over a decade of experience in the field, Greg’s experience includes organizing and executing economic and legal conferences, bringing together professionals from various industries to discuss and explore important topics.
Gregory's passion for the arts led him to pursue a degree in Art History from the University of Toronto. To further enhance his skills and knowledge in the events industry, Gregory completed the Event Management Post-Graduate Program at Humber College.
Originally from Toronto, Gregory has now made Richmond his home. When he's not managing captivating events or immersed in the world of art and culture, you can find him enjoying quality time with his dog, Maya.

Chantelle Wegwitz, Manager of Operations, Seyem’
Chantelle Wegwitz is the Manager of Operations for Seyem’, the economic development arm of the Kwantlen First Nation. Seyem’ is held to cultivating a prosperous economy through innovation, capacity building and strong partnerships while honouring Kwantlen’s Indigenous heritage. Chantelle incorporates her strong interpersonal and communication skills she acquired when working in social service to continually build upon and strengthen working relationships between neighboring nations, joint ventures, partners, and customers. She diligently builds relationships through a commitment of building economic health for future generations.
Prior to her work with Seyem’ and Kwantlen First Nation, Chantelle embraced her role as Project Coordinator/Facilitator with local non-profit organizations. Her roles involved a strong understanding of working with multi barrier youth and adults to help support improving their quality of life. Chantelle has proven expertise in managing, coordinating, and facilitating youth in non-profit, government subsidized life skills and employment skills programs. Chantelle was a dedicated leader directing a multi-faceted and skilled team of counsellors and facilitators to support achievement of overall government mandated goals and objectives.
Chantelle is extremely grateful for the opportunity to learn and embrace the history, knowledge, and the culture of local first nation groups.
Chantelle recognizes and acknowledges that she lives and works on the unceded territories of the Kwantlen First Nation, Semiahmoo First Nation and the Katzie First Nation.

Bill Yuen, Executive Director, Heritage Vancouver Society
Bill is dedicated to an understanding and practice of heritage that is centred on people and their ways of living and experiencing. He is committed to how diverse public memories, social histories, rituals and meanings of place can be better understood, experienced and appreciated through the environment around us. Some examples of this work include cognitive mapping to uncover how a place has meaning for a community, storytelling through comics, and a current oral histories project on the immigrant experience. Bill is also a Master’s student in Urban Studies at SFU. His research is on the political economy of co-operative housing.
