Students in General Studies are encouraged to develop their own academic path – seeking opportunities that match their interests and coalescing them into a unique program which suits their goals. General Studies is the most flexible area of study at KPU, and allows for the greatest degree of customization as students can take courses from a variety of disciplines.

Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in General Studies
AA Degree Framework
All courses used as part of an AA degree must be transferrable to one of the following BC universities: SFU, UBC, UNBC, or UVIC. Minimum grade of "C" is required in all courses. The total of 60 credits must include a minimum of 21 credits in Arts at the second-year level taken in two or more subject areas
English and Science Requirements:
- 6 Credits of First Year English: ENGL 1100 and ENGL 1202 or 1204
- 9 Credits of Science:

Diploma in General Studies
Students can obtain a Diploma in General Studies upon the completing a minimum of 60 undergraduate credits. Students can take undergraduate courses across different departments and faculties. This diploma allows students the opportunity to explore multidisciplinary subject areas.
The Diploma in General Studies students can book an appointment with Central Advising or International Advising to explore courses within the various fields of study KPU has to offer.
