Dr. Patrick Findler has earned by BA from Simon Fraser University, and his MA and PhD from the University of California, Davis. His teaching and research are interests in ethics, the philosophy of sport, and metaphysics. He co-authored (with Dr. Doran Smolkin and Dr. Warren Bourgeois) the book, Debating Health Care Ethics: Canadian Contexts, 2nd edition. His current research includes a paper on mountaineering ethics and the duty to rescue. Dr. Findler co-founded (with Dr. Colin Ruloff) the PHILOsurfer Convergence – an annual conference for philosophers who surf (philosurfers!) and surf journalists.
