The Level C welding program provides students with the skills and knowledge to become competent welders. Students will develop the necessary habits concerning safety and the proper use of time and materials necessary as competent welders in today's market. The logbook registration at the C Level will require apprentices to complete work-based hours in the welding field. (subject to change by ITA).
The Level B 16 week (480 hours) program provides more advanced welding skills, techniques and theory. The logbook registration at the B Level will require apprentices to complete work-based hours in the welding field. (subject to change by ITA).
The Level A 8 week (240 hours) program provides the welder with the broadest base of skills and knowledge. Students completing this level of training should be prepared to work in any industrial environment requiring welding. The logbook registration at the A Level will require apprentices to complete work-based hours in the welding field. (subject to change by ITA).
These programs are offered Monday through Friday. During the week there are morning and evening classes. Afternoon classes are usually for high school students - ACE IT.

Morning and Evening
Graduates of Kwantlen's welding programs are in demand by industry. Welders are employed in manufacturing, fabrication shops, forestry, mining, petrochemical, transportation, and marine industries.
Students must meet either the regular student admission category or the mature student admission category in addition to the following:
Students with mental or physical impairments who may require program accommodations, should contact the Program Coordinator at 604.598.6122 to discuss required skills and competencies, and a Disability Advisor at 604.599.3233 to ensure appropriate accommodations can be arranged.
Hands-on shop experience is the basis on which skills are developed in the program. The program is designed to accommodate past experience; credit and/or advancement will be given to students who can demonstrate learned skills plus theoretical knowledge. Levels are completed in the order of C, B, and A. The course content is organized into modules to ensure maximum flexibility. There are two types of modules in the welding program. Practical Modules (P–Modules) deal with the actual practices and theory of welding processes and Related Knowledge Modules (RK–Modules) deal with theoretical knowledge required to gain employment as a welder.

Welding – Level "A" Citation
Students will require appropriate personal safety clothing and CSA approved steel toed boots. Safety glasses, hearing protection, leather gloves, leather jacket or apron, welding helmet and cutting goggles are also required. Upon successful completion of Welding – Level C, students are awarded a Certificate and a Welder's Log Book with Level C endorsement.
Upon successful completion of Welding – Level B, students are awarded a Citation and the Level B training endorsement in their Log Book.
Upon successful completion of Welding – Level A, students are awarded a Citation and the Level A training endorsement in their Log Book.
