Associate of Arts Degree: Economics
This program of study is recommended for students interested in pursuing a career in economics or finance and is designed to provide the foundations required for upper level courses. Kwantlen currently offers a BA Minor in Economics, and a BA General Studies. Since both economics and finance require a fair amount of mathematical ability, there is a calculus requirement. It is recommended that entrants have credit for Principles of Math 12, or equivalent, with a minimum grade of C+.
Within the framework of the Associate of Arts degree, you must complete at least 60 credits with a minimum grade of C in each course including the following:

Students intending on pursuing a Major or Minor in Economics are encouraged to take a second course in calculus and a course in linear algebra. Those pursuing a degree in Finance should also take Introduction to Financial Accounting.
