The Early Alert system provides early intervention so that small problems don’t turn into large problems. Similarly, the Early Alert system allows instructors to address student issues where more personal communication may not be possible. Sometimes instructors themselves may be unaware of all the resources available that can help students, so the Early Alert system brings all those resources together.
Students matter. The Early Alert program lets students know that people at KPU care. The supports that are available to students show them that they are important.
Student Support Referrals
Launching May 2025

- Accessibility Services
- Academic Advising Teams
- Behavioural Intervention Team
- Career Services
- Counselling Services
- Indigenous Services for Students
- Library Services
- Student Awards and Financial Assistance

What's New?
This Student Support Referral Program will be hosted through KPU’s new online service portal, myKPU. Staff and faculty will have access to myKPU starting in May 2025. Support Support Referrals will include new partners - Library Services, Indigeneous Services for Students, and Career Services. It will also include a new referral menu which is clearer about which service you are referring to.
Faculty members will be asked to assist with testing starting in January 2025 and the system will be active for faculty referrals during the Summer Semester 2025.
Student Support Referrals are confidential. They trigger an invitation to engage with a specific service area above. Student responses to these referrals are voluntary.
More information and training will be available closer to launch. If you have any questions, please reach out to earlyalert@kpu.ca
