Plumbers have the expertise (knowledge and skills) to install, repair and maintain a variety of piping systems (copper, plastic, etc.), plumbing fixtures that associate with water distribution and waste water disposal. Job tasks will require the knowledge of codes and regulations. Plumbers are employed in many areas of the community – educational and health care facilities, residential and commercial construction businesses, maintenance departments, plumbing contractors and manufacturing plants.
KPU offers Foundation and four levels of Apprentice technical training.

Foundation Training
Full-time: 25 weeks, Cloverdale Campus
Program: Foundation training for the Plumbing program is now incorporated in the Citation in Plumbing and Piping program. Students who successfully complete the Citation in Plumbing and Piping will have the option to pursue apprenticeships in Plumbing, Steamfitting/Pipefitting, or Sprinkler Systems.

Apprentice Training
Full-time: 7 weeks for Level 1 and 3. 8 weeks for Level 2 and 4. All programs are at the Cloverdale Campus

Youth TRAIN in Trades (formerly ACE IT)
Plumbing Foundation programs are currently offered in partnership with Surrey School District (SD 36), Delta School District (SD 37) and with Maple Ridge School District (SD 42).
