Notice of Motion occurs at Steps 27-29 of the Policy Protocol.  Normally, the policy has already been reviewed by the University community for a four-week period and been reviewed again by the approving body.  Notice of Motion allows the University community to send comments regarding the policy or procedure to the Office of Policy Articulation for a two-week period.  Comments are compiled and referred to the administrator responsible for administering the policy.  Notice of Motion is approved by the jurisdiction body responsible - Board, Senate or President.

Integrity in Research and Scholarship (B18)
The President has approved moving a revision of the Integrity in Research and Scholasrhip Policy and Procedures to the Notice of Motion stage, omitting the University Comment stage because the Tri-Agency Framework:  Responsible Conduct of Research (http://www.rcr.ethics.gc.ca/eng/policy-politique/framework-cadre/) has recently been produced by the Secretariat on Responsibile Research Conduct of Research (SRCR).  This document is a guide to institutional policy of Integrity in Research and modifications to bring institutional policies in line with it are required to be compliant with the federal Tri-Agencies.  An updated MOU requires this to be completed prior to December 2012.  Failure to implement the changes will invalidate Kwantlen's MOU with the federal Tri-Agencies, resulting in loss of eligibility for ALL federal research funding and Chair support.
