Responsible Research Begins with Learning Key Norms, Guidelines, and Policies
Join Office of Research Services at KPU to gain insights from Dr. Grace Kelly, an expert from the Secretariat on RCR on essential requirements for ethical and compliant research.
This session will provide an overview of the Tri-Agency Framework: Responsible Conduct of Research (2021) with specific focus on the responsibilities of researchers, Institutions, and Agencies that help foster and maintain an environment that supports and promotes RCR.

Intended Audience
The webinar is open to any individuals involved in research at post-secondary institutions across British Columbia, including faculty, researchers, staff, students, and postdoctoral scholars.
Meet the Speaker
Dr. Grace Kelly is the Senior Advisor, Responsible Conduct of Research for the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research. Since joining the Secretariat in 2022, Grace has played a key role in the agencies’ commitment to promoting and fostering a culture of responsible research.
Prior to joining the Secretariat, Grace worked for 16 years at Western University as Manager, Research Compliance Programs and Education, Research Compliance Officer and Human Research Ethics Officer. Grace received her Doctor of Education from Western University in 2023.
Secretariat on RCR
It is responsible for the implementation of the Tri-Agency Framework: Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR Framework) and the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2) on behalf of the Tri-Agency funding programs: Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
