KPU uses Moodle as its primary learning management system to support face-to-face classes in addition to digital learning environments offered partially or fully online. In Moodle, instructors can share course content (print or multimedia), engage students with discussion forums, manage assignments and quizzes, as well as give grades. Moodle offers many plugins to allow for integration of other technology tools we support (e.g. Kaltura, H5P, PebblePad). Contact us (tlcommons@kpu.ca) to request additional plugins or features.

Moodle

Overview

KPU is in the process of converting from a single Moodle instance (courses.kpu.ca) to a multi-server configuration. This will increase functionality, customization to meet user needs and support emergency preparedness of our infrastructure. Summer course shells for semester-based courses have now been deployed to the new Moodle server, courses.moodle.kpu.ca. For the time being, Trades and Continuing Studies courses remain at courses.kpu.ca. These will move to new locations for courses starting after August 1st, 2022.

These new Moodle servers have an updated look and some additional features which are reviewed in this video overview.
