Who is eligible?
All students at KPU who are typically charged the domestic rate of tuition. This includes:
- Canadian Citizens
- Permanent Residents
- Convention Refugees
- Diplomats
Which courses does this include at KPU?
- All of our English Language Studies (ELST) courses
- All of our "Q" courses (BIOQ, CHEQ, ENGQ, MATQ, PHYQ)
What do we mean when we say "free"?
- Students will not be charged tuition.
- Students will continue to be charged mandatory student fees (fees for library, technologies, student life). A list of these fees is available at: https://calendar.kpu.ca/registration/tuition-mandatory-student-fees/
- Students will still need to purchase their books.
- KSA fees will not be charged for students enrolled in ABE / ESL, with the exception of the Multi-Pass. The typical opt-out process for Multi-Pass remains in effect.
- The Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG) will continue to cover the cost of fees for AUG-eligible students.
How do I apply?
- Applicants are to follow the normal application process: kpu.ca/apply
- Applicants may apply to any Faculty or program and must still meet the admission requirements for those programs. The fee exemption is based on courses and not by program.
- Testing and assessments may be required to access courses. Testing schedule and information: English Upgrading Assessments or ELS Assessments
