Office of the Vice President, Students
Welcome to the KPU community!
Thank you for choosing KPU as the place where you will pursue your studies and embark on what we trust will be an incredible journey. As part of this journey, we are excited for you to explore your academic, professional and personal goals, and discover the many ways in which KPU is a place where thought truly does meet action.
The Office of the Vice President, Students is here for you – our students. Collectively, we serve as a champion for the issues you face and provide the services you so deserve. Our team oversees the following areas that provide supports for all KPU students:
We also serve as the University’s liaison with the Kwantlen Student Association, working closely to provide additional opportunities and services for students and our campus communities.
KPU is Canada’s only polytechnic university and we are an innovative, transformative and ambitious post-secondary institution. We support nearly 20,000 students across five thriving campuses. With our wide range of programming, you can study things like technical apparel, horticulture, philosophy, or perhaps train to become a millwright, journalist, nurse, accountant, or game developer in the entertainment arts industry – and these are only just a few of the possibilities!
You may not be certain whether a bachelor’s degree is right for you. Not to worry, we offer a range of shorter certificate, diploma and associate degree programs in addition to our four-year bachelor’s degrees. And, if you want to upgrade your math, science or English language skills, we’re here with the upgrading courses you need.
We also have post-baccalaureate programs and newly developed graduate programs. Our Trades and Apprenticeship programming is another great option to gain applied skills from experienced industry professionals. The opportunities are endless.
While you’re here, know that there are plenty of opportunities to expand your horizons beyond our campuses. Through our study abroad, exchange and field school opportunities you can travel the world to experience new cultures, learn a new language or enhance your employability options.
At KPU everyone contributes to the support and development of our students, and it shows. Our graduates are confident, passionate and work-ready individuals who contribute to the future of the university and to the communities we serve.
Whether you are a new, continuing or returning student, I encourage you to seek out and build connections while you are here – with faculty, with your peers, and with all the many support networks and services that KPU has to offer. Making and maintaining connections is a wonderful way to discover new opportunities, and to grow.
Thank you to all our students for all that you do to make KPU such a dynamic place to learn and work.
