Background

I am a personality psychologist who studies the interactions between people and contexts. Broadly, my research lies at the intersection of personality psychology, social psychology, and emotion/affective science.

I study context effects --- how and why individuals express similar or different personalities in various situations and the ways in which they use these expressions to define their self-concept. I also study the interactions between personality and emotion experiences, and individual differences in emotion recognition and regulation.

I received my Ph.D in Social and Personality Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and then went on to complete a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University with a specialization in teaching psychology.

I am constantly looking for new and exciting ways to facilitate student engagement, encourage less stressful evaluations, and create the best possible classroom experience.
