StrongerBC future skills grant

The StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG), funded by the Province of British Columbia, is open to residents of British Columbia aged 19 years or older - regardless of financial need - and covers up to $3,500 in eligible short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for funding, you: 

• Must either have already graduated from Grade 12 (or equivalent) or at least 19 years old; 
• Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person entitled to study in Canada;
• Must be a resident of British Columbia;
• Must not be receiving, or entitled to receive, the benefit of funding towards the eligible fees provided through other grants, loans, scholarships or comparable funding programs; and 
• Must provide consent to collect and disclose personal information that is relevant to accessing the StrongerBC future skills grant to the Province of British Columbia and KPU.

How to Apply

1. Check the eligibility criteria to confirm your eligibility for the grant. 
2. Choose and register for your course from the above list. 
3. Download the FSG intake form and email to cps@kpu.ca. You will receive a confirmation email within 3 business days. 
4. Apply for the StrongerBC future skills grant online using your BC Services Card Account starting August 6, 2024. 
   • If you need help with your BC Services Card Account, please contact the BC Services Card Help Desk. 
5. You will receive further instructions via email. Successful applicants will be refunded of their registration fee and course materials (if any).
