Step 1: Apply to KPU
Before you submit any official documents or Entrance Package to us, you must apply to KPU first on EducationPlannerBC. If you need help, contact the Future Student's Office for assistance.
You do not need to submit your entrance package/portfolio at this step.
Step 2: Meet Admission Requirements
Ensure you meet the Admission Requirements for your program. After we receive your application, you will receive an email with your student number and login information for your KPU student email and Online Self-Service(OSS) account. Be sure to regularly check these accounts for updates and review your online application checklist.
Meet English Proficiency Requirement: Contact admissions@kpu.ca if you need assistance submitting official documents. If you are an international student, contact KPU International at international@kpu.ca. Please do not submit English Proficiency proof to SlideRoom.
Submit Entrance Package: After applying to KPU, you will receive a link to upload your Entrance Package onto the online submission portal, SlideRoom. Please note that SlideRoom requires a supplemental fee and data privacy consent. Contact design@kpu.ca if you need assistance.
Step 3: Interview
Depending on the program you have applied for, an interview may be required. See Admission Requirements to check if the program requires an interview.
Step 4: Receive a Decision
We will update your application status, which will be one of the following:
- Offered: Admissible applicants will receive an Offer of Admission letter.
- Waitlisted: You are on the waitlist for the program.
- Not Accepted: If you are not admissible to your first-choice program, you may be offered the opportunity to study in another WSD’s design program to further develop your skills, knowledge, and portfolio for reapplying for the next intake.
Step 5: Pay Your Deposit
When you receive an Offer of Admission letter by email and mail, you will need to accept it by paying your non-refundable confirmation deposit through your OSS account before the specified deadline. Details will be provided in the letter. The deposit will be applied to your tuition costs once you register for classes.
Step 6: Register for Courses
Admitted students who have paid the confirmation deposit will receive registration dates.
