Entrance Awards and Scholarships for Design!
We are pleased to announce entrance scholarships for design students enrolling in Fall 2025.
- The Puge Sengara Entrance Award
- Fashion & Technology: 3 x $1,000
- Fashion Marketing: 3 x $1,000
- Product Design: 3 x $1,000
- Technical Apparel Design: 3 x $1,000
No application is required; recipients will be selected by faculty based on outstanding potential.
- Interior Design Endowed Entrance Scholarship
- Interior Design: 3 x $2,000
No application is required; recipients will be selected by faculty based on outstanding potential.
- Sandler Family Scholarship
"Our daughter Juliette had a valuable educational experience at the Wilson School of Design, and our family would like to pay it forward by helping qualifying students in the Graphic Design for Marketing program, who have experienced life challenges, to fulfill their potential with our scholarship."
- Graphic Design for Marketing: 5 x $1,000
- Criteria:
- Student accepted into Graphic Design for Marketing or a current student in Graphic Design for Marketing.
- To be considered, student must submit a 400–500 word written statement that describes how they have faced and worked through challenges and adversity in their life to meet their goals.
- Financial need (Budget Worksheet is required).
Completed application packages must be submitted to Student Awards and Financial Assistance by emailing awards@kpu.ca no later than 11:59pm, April 30, 2025. Please ensure your file is labeled as "Last Name_First Name_GDMA". Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
- Janis Elaine Waller Endowed Memorial Fashion Design Scholarship
Janis Elaine Waller, mother of three young children and lifelong partner to her husband was a very vivacious and outgoing person who was always willing to help. Her care for others was demonstrated in her work as a high school Home Economics teacher in Burnaby. Janis' goal was to encourage and help promising students pursue higher education and ultimately a career in the fashion industry. In Janis' memory, her family and the Burnaby School District Home Economics Department is pleased to offer an award to a High School graduate intending to pursue higher education in Fashion Design at KPU.
- Fashion & Technology or Fashion Marketing: 1 x $1250
- Criteria: The student will have achieved a minimum grade of B+ in Home Economics related courses (based on school documentation). The recipient may be announced at the school commencement ceremony. Funds will be applied as a tuition credit once the student has registered in a degree or diploma program in Fashion Design or Fashion Marketing.
Students must apply through the KPU Entrance Awards online application and submit the required documentation, in order to be considered for this award.

- 6 President’s Scholarships of $30,000 each
- 18 Merit Awards of $7,500 each
- 3 Indigenous Merit Awards of $7,500 each
