Submitting Official Transcripts

Applicants to KPU will need to submit transcripts for secondary and post-secondary institutions attended.  Outstanding documents can be seen on the application checklist.   

SUBMISSION OF OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL DOCUMENTS

Official high school transcripts will be accepted when:

  • Mailed directly from the issuing institution to KPU;
  • For Canadian high school transcripts only: Mailed in by the student in an institutionally sealed envelope or submitted in person by the student in an institutionally sealed envelope;
  • For International high school transcripts: Please see Out-of-Country Documents page for specific details. Original (irreplaceable) transcripts may be accepted for select countries.

Currently Attending High School

Current BC High School Students

All BC high school students must release their transcripts to KPU on the BC Ministry of Education StudentTranscripts Service (STS). Once in STS:

  • Select "Send your transcript to a university(ies), college(s), or other post-secondary institution(s)"
  • Then select Kwantlen Polytechnic University from the Available Institutions picklist
  • Select "Send my transcript now and allow this post-secondary Institution to request updates until the date specified below”; leave the defaulted date to ensure KPU can access your final transcript.
  • Once you have completed your transaction, your transcript will be sent to KPU electronically.

Check your KPU Application Checklist regularly to track your progress.

Please note that proof of June graduation must be received in order to be eligible for Fall admission. High school students graduating in August may be eligible for Spring admission. High school students graduating in January may be eligible for Summer admission.

If you are a BC high school student applying to select limited intake programs (as requested in the application checklist), please submit the Self-Reporting Form no later than March 1.

Current Canadian High School Students

Official transcripts must be issued by the authorized institutions listed on the Canadian Equivalencies page. Interim transcripts must be submitted by March 1 showing final grades for courses completed, as well as interim grades for courses in progress. Final transcripts and proof of graduation must be submitted no later than August 1. Please be aware limited intake programs require all interim grades to be received by March 1 in order to be used for admission purposes.

Current Out-of-Country High School Students

Official transcripts must be issued by the authorized institutions listed on the Out-of-Country Documents page. Interim transcripts must be submitted by March 1 showing final grades for courses completed, as well as interim grades for courses in progress. Final transcripts and proof of graduation must be submitted no later than August 1.
If English is not the primary language in your country, additional English proficiency testing will be required. Please be aware limited intake programs require all interim grades and testing results to be received by March 1 in order to be used for admission purposes.

Already Graduated from High School

BC High School Graduates

Students who are upgrading high school courses must order a final transcript (select option "Send my printed transcript now") upon completion of the new course. Please be aware limited intake programs require all final grades to be received by the early application deadline in order to be used for admission purposes.

Canadian High School Graduates

Out-of-Country High School Graduates

Official transcripts must be issued by the authorized institutions listed on the Out-of-Country Documents page. Official transcripts are detailed statements of completed courses/examinations and corresponding grades. A graduation statement is also required on the credential when applicable.

Official post-secondary transcripts will be accepted when:

  • Mailed directly from the issuing institution to KPU;
  • Received through electronic transcript exchange
    • Capilano University
    • Douglas College
    • Langara College
    • Simon Fraser University (SFU)
    • Thompson Rivers University (TRU)
    • University of British Columbia (UBC, and UBC-Okanagan)
    • University of the Fraser Valley (UFV)
    • Vancouver Island University (VIU)
  • Transcripts submitted by the student in an institutionally sealed envelope may be accepted for select countries. Please see Out-of-Country Documents page for specific details.

Currently Attending College/University

Please order an official transcript to be issued to KPU by your college/university, showing final grades for all coursework completed to date as well as a list of the courses you are currently registered in even though grades are not yet available. Normally, transcripts requested after the start of a new semester should contain all of this information but please check with your current institution to confirm. You must also send another transcript once final grades for courses in progress are available. Applicants also seeking transfer credit are required to submit official transcripts for all post-secondary institutions attended.

Previous College/University

All documents submitted to KPU become the property of Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Applicants who do not attend and wish to re-apply later may be required to submit a new set of documents.
