Meet Logan Creek
Thursday, Feb. 16, 1-2:30pm
Did you know that Logan Creek passes right through the KPU Langley campus? Come explore the wild wonders of the outdoor campus! Join us for an exciting interpretive walk with Lisa Dreves of the Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS). Learn about the animals that live within this river ecosystem, the decolonization project of Logan Creek, and why wetlands are a huge ally in mitigating the climate crisis. Open to students, staff and faculty.
This is a KPU Wild Spaces event.
About the facilitator:
Lisa Dreves is the stewardship coordinator for Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS) and has been with them for 22 years since she graduated from the EPT program through KPU. Over the years she has stepped a boot in every creek in Langley including Logan Creek behind the KPU Langley campus. Lisa also participated in the decolonization project of Logan Creek as a student of the Horticulture program. LEPS is a unique, non-profit organization that is celebrating 30 years of conservation work this year. Their biggest mandate is education, offering workshops for community members from preschool age to seniors. They work in the Township and City of Langley to promote sustainable living, watershed stewardship, local agriculture, and conservation.
Note: event is on rain or shine. Boots recommended!
Meeting location: KPU Langley courtyard (see map):
