A week's worth of free, flexible programming and activities open to ALL first-year students registered in classes in ANY program from Monday, January 6th, 2025 to Friday, January 10th, 2025.
We've curated a fun list of activities, both virtual and on-campus, for you to participate in, have fun, learn new skills and MAKE NEW FRIENDS! Welcome Week is your opportunity to go beyond the basics and get a deeper look at what KPU has to offer through drop-in activities and workshops hosted by on-campus experts across KPU.
You do not have to attend other Orientation Days to be eligible to attend Welcome Week events - Welcome Week is open to ALL first-year students, regardless of which semester you began your studies.

Friday, January 10, 2025 12pm - 1pm (PT) | Online | Reading Texts and Taking Notes | This workshop will help you learn from your textbooks and university lectures by introducing a variety of effective pre-lecture reading strategies along with in class note-taking and post-class techniques. The session will include organizing your reading strategy to make sense of all this new information so that you can be successful in your courses.
