Fall New Student Orientation

Fall 2025 New Student Orientation is for new students beginning classes in September 2025.  Students beginning classes in Spring/January 2026 will be invited to the Spring 2026 New Student Orientation.

Your opportunity to discover KPU, learn about services and resources, meet fellow students and classmates, receive guidance from senior students, and have a ton of fun!

 

  • Online Orientation Course

    Learn valuable and practical information about starting your studies like how to get your books, what services are available to you, the upass, and your KSA Health and Dental plan through our Online Orientation Course.

    • Complete at your own pace

    *This course is designed for domestic and international students. It is mandatory for all new incoming international students.

     

     

  • Community Orientations

    Community Orientations are specifically designed for the unique experiences of the students they serve.  Join your community to get ready for the beginning of your journey here at KPU.  To attend the sessions, please click the links below on the date and time listed.

Welcome Week

One week of flexible programming and activities open to ALL first-year students registered in classes in ANY program.

We have curated a fun list of activities for our new students to participate in, have fun, learn new skills, and MAKE NEW FRIENDS!


 

International Students

International students are required to attend the Live International Orientation Session listed above. We highly encourage all new international students to attend New Student Orientation if you are in Canada.

Visiting and Exchange Students

Please attend the Live International Virtual Orientation session.  Visiting and Exchange Students are required to attend the Welcome event organized by the Study Abroad Team.   We highly encourage you to attend New Student Orientation.

KPU Tech Students

Trades students are encouraged to participate in the Online Orientation.  Though New Student Orientation will not take place at KPU Tech, we invite you to New Student Orientation on August 25th, August 26th, August 27th, or August 28th.

 

Students with Disabilities

KPU offers Orientation programs that adapt to the needs of all KPU students, including students with disabilities. KPU is happy to provide modified orientations for students with individual needs on the day of the event, or on a later date by request.

Preparing for Orientation

  • Pre-order your KPU Card (Student ID) online. You can order your card up to one month before the start of classes.
  • Order your books online at bookstore.kwantlen.ca
  • Check on your program/Faculty website to see if you have an additional Program Orientation or Information Sessions to attend.
  • International & Exchange students - Submit all required documents to KPU International.

New Student Checklists

Starting at KPU isn't quite as easy as just showing up in September. You need to complete a number of tasks before arriving and throughout the first few weeks to jumpstart your success. We've put together these tasks into downloadable checklists for your convenience.
