Library Facilities
KPU Library has four locations. There is a library at Langley, Richmond, Surrey and Tech campuses. Each library features study space, computer and printer access, browseable collections, a Service Counter and Research Help Desk. Richmond, Surrey and Tech campus libraries are also home to KPU Learning Centres.
Our students have different study needs and we have established Learning Zones at our campus libraries to help our users self-select and manage their own needs and noise levels. We have three types of Learning Zones: Collaborative Learning Zones (moderate conversation and talking for group work and interactions with others), Quiet Learning Zones (minimal talking at low volume for individual study among others), and Silent Learning Zones (No conversation for individual, silent study). Each campus library will have a different combination of these zones. In all zones, we ask our users to be respectful of those around you and to set devices to silent or vibrate.
Remember that KPU Library is a public space and to keep your valuables with you at all times.
All of our campus libraries have a limited amount of group study rooms for KPU Students. Group study rooms must be booked by a KPU student using our online booking system. At some locations, you may need to show your KPU Card at a Service Counter to get access to the keys to the room. Some rooms are outfitted with technology to assist in collaboration. Full details can be found at Book Study Rooms.
Covered drinks and food are allowed at Langley and Surrey campus libraries. Covered drinks are allowed at Richmond and Tech campus libraries, but no food. We ask users to ensure they keep their space clean and to use the garbage and recycling bins before you leave the library.
At Surrey campus library, washrooms are available adjacent to the main stairwell in the atrium. There is an additional single stall, accessible, gender-inclusive washroom on the first floor. It also has a change table. It is located on the south side of the concrete structure beside the stairwell that also houses the other washrooms and elevator.
There are no washrooms within the library space at our Langley, Richmond and Tech campus libraries. Visitors can use the campus washrooms.
Each of our campus libraries has computers, MFDs (Multi-functional devices to print, scan and photocopy), and wifi available for our users. We also have computer labs with additional computers that are available if there is no library instruction class in session. Learn more at Computers at KPU Library.
Printing costs are calculated per single-sided page. You will need to load funds to your Papercut account to print. Printing costs and instructions can be found at Print Scan Copy.
Visit Student Resources from KPU Information Technology to read about their instructions for printing, connecting to wifi, and more.
