Langley Campus Library is located in the west building of Langley campus. Its main entrance doors are button-activated. It is a single level. The front area of the library includes the Service Counter, Research Help Desk, χʷəχʷéy̓əm Indigenous Collection, computer area, Teaching lab, and printers/copiers. The collection is located in the central library space, alongside study tables for group and individual use. There are individual study carrels along the windowed perimeter of the library. The group study rooms are located along the north-west side of the library. 

The front service counter, which is the primary service point in the library including borrowing services, equipment and media services, research help from librarians and printer support. The service counter has been designed to be accessible to library users and staff; the counter can rise and lower according to needs, and the base of the counter has been left open for clearance. 

Learning Zones

  • Collaborative Learning Zone: Central library seating area
  • Quiet Learning Zones: Desks along the windows of the library, on the south and southwest sides, computer lab

Due to the size and configuration of Langley campus library, there is no Silent Learning Zone at this location.

Washrooms

There are no washrooms located in Langley campus library. The nearest washrooms are located a few steps east of the library entrance, in the main west building corridor and have an accessible stall. There is also a universal, single-stall washroom.

Height-Adjustable Desks

There are four height-adjustable desks at Langley campus library:

  • By the window on the east side of the library
  • In the teaching lab by the entrance, with a student computer
  • At the north-west side of the student computer area, with the accessible computer station
  • In group study room 1124

Accessible Computer Station

There is an accessible computer station located at the north-west side of the computer area. The computer is on a desk that can rise and lower and the computer is equipped with a high-contrast keyboard and earphones. The computer has JAWS (screen reader) and ZoomText (magnification program).
