Richmond Campus Library is located in the south-east corner of the main building. Its main entrance is left open during hours of operation. It is single level. The front section of the library includes the Service Counter and Research Help Desk, printers/copiers, soft seating, the χʷəχʷéy̓əm Indigenous Collection, and areas for display. Further into the library are the student computers, Learning Centre, Teaching Lab, book stacks, group study rooms, and washrooms. The back of the library also includes study rooms. There are study carrels at the back of the library as well as along the perimeter of the library. 

Learning Zones

  • Collaborative Learning Zone: the front area of the library, by the student computer stations, χʷəχʷéy̓əm Indigenous Collection, and Service Counter
  • Quiet Learning Zones: the rest of the library, including group study rooms, teaching lab, and seating/desk areas along the perimeter of the library and northeast side of the library.

Washrooms

There are women's, men's and a universal washroom located in the central part of the library, east of the Teaching Lab and north of the main section of bookshelves. The universal washroom is a single-stall washroom with a handled door; the other washrooms have a push-door and an accessible stall. None of the washrooms have automatic buttons to open the doors.

Height-Adjustable Desks

There are four height-adjustable desks at Richmond campus library, all with computer stations. There is one located on the northwest corner of the computer area in the main library space; two more along the south windows across from the computer area and group tables. There is an additional desk in the Teaching Lab, at the end of the second row of computers.

Accessible Computer Station

There is an accessible computer station located at the north-west corner of the computer area.  The computer is equipped with a high-contrast keyboard and a headset. The computer has JAWS (screen reader) and ZoomText (magnification program). Please note, the computer is on a desk that cannot be adjusted in height.
