Interdepartmental Requests

Requests for institutional-related material that KPU employees wish to have printed using the Braille embosser, such as event programs, certificates, and other supporting documentation can send their requests to the EDIA Technician at libinclusion@kpu.ca. A text-only version of your material is best, as the embosser does not print images. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing. The EDIA Librarian or Technician will be in touch by email within 2 business days of request to verify that your request was received and is within our service scope and capabilities.

KPU Instructors or faculty may use the Braille printer on a self-serve basis, after a one-on-one orientation has been completed with the EDIA Librarian or Technician. To book an appointment, please email libinclusion@kpu.ca. There is currently no charge for work-related printing (within Fair Dealing) by KPU employees or Departments, but we ask KPU employees to please log the number of pages printed on the Printing Log on the desktop of the station.

All Interdepartmental/Institutional Requests listed above are still subject to the limitations of our service scope, especially concerning Fair Dealing. See Permitted Printing for more information.

External Institutional Requests

Due to the primarily self-serve intent of our Braille printer, external institutional requests (i.e. requests from other educational institutions) are not currently part of our service scope. Members of the public can access the Braille printer in-person as a Community Borrower; please visit Braille Printing at KPU Library for information on how to book an appointment for your first visit.
